Narragansett Man Pleads Guilty To Operating Marijuana Grow: AG

The illegal marijuana grow was in Providence, the state Attorney General's office said.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — Joseph Esposito, 71, of Narragansett, pleaded guilty Monday in Superior Court to drug charges. Specifically, he was accused of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (one count); conspiracy( one count); and delivery of a controlled substance (two counts).

The authorities allege Esposito and his co-conspirator Timothy Hunter were operating an illegal and unlicensed marijuana grow out in Providence at 225 Dupont Drive. The building is owned by Esposito and was previously used in jewelry manufacturing.

Hunter's case is still pending.

Esposito received a suspended sentence with probation. He got five years on each count. Also, he forfeited $900,000.
