Narragansett Police Log: August 11 and 12, 2012

Police made a minor arrest and cite a Narragansett woman for an alcohol violation.

Westerly Man Arrested for Warrant

Neil C. Trewhella, 47, of 75 Watch Hill Road, Apt. #3, Westerly, was arrested at about 12:47 p.m. Police said a Fourth Division District Court warrant was out for Trewhella’s arrest for failing to appear at a court hearing for a Westerly police charge of domestic assault.

According to police, an officer waiting for the light to turn on Windermere Road at Point Judith Road noted a car running a red light. A traffic stop was made at Seaport Communications.

Police said a background check of the driver – Trewhella – revealed a warrant. He was arrested without incident and also cited for running the red light. He was processed and then released at about 3:20 p.m.

Narragansett Resident Cited for Alcohol Violation

Kaitlyn A. Robinson, 20, of 5 Kingfisher Road, Narragansett, was cited at about 1:50 a.m. on Aug. 11 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor.

According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Point Judith Road saw a red Hyundai Accent without a rear license plate. As a result, a traffic stop was made near Green Kinyon Driftway.

Police said that while checking Robinson’s background, they noticed a temporary plate affixed to the rear window with tape, as well as a handle of Canadian Mist whiskey on the rear passengers’ side floorboard.

According to police, Robinson had the proper paperwork for the vehicle. However, the alcohol was confiscated and Robinson was cited. Police noted that Robinson showed no signs of intoxication, and she was allowed to drive from the scene.
