Narragansett Police Log: August 15 and 16, 2011

South Kingstown Man Arrested for Trespassing via Skateboard

Christopher T. Sanbento, 28, of 155 Stonehedge Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 16 and charged with trespassing.

According to police, on April 12 they issued a no trespassing order to Sanbento after receiving a complaint from a property owner in the Pier Marketplace. On Aug. 16, police received a report that Sanbento had returned and was skateboarding in the area.

Police responded to the area and run a background check on Sanbento, which confirmed the no trespass order. He was arrested without incident, and released at 1:45 p.m. He was issued a Fourth Division District Court hearing for Aug. 30.

Narragansett Man Arrested for Warrant

Ronald D. Ricard, 52, of 144 South Pier Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 4:59 p.m. on Aug. 16. According to police, Ricard had a warrant out for his arrest on charges of falsely filing a police report in May 2011 because he had not made a payment on $218.50 in court fines.

Police said an officer who knew that Ricard had a warrant out for his arrest saw him while on patrol on South Pier Road. A background check confirmed the warrant, and Ricard was arrested without incident.

According to police, Ricard posted the $218.50 at about 8:47 p.m. and was released.

West Warwick Man Cited for Driving Motorcycle with Suspended License

Larry W. Taylor, 28, of 13 Gough Ave., West Warwick, was cited at about 9:53 p.m. on Aug. 16 on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer clearing another call on the Narragansett seawall saw a motorcycle driven by Taylor with neon blue headlights and a loud exhaust system.

A background check revealed that Taylor’s license had been suspended, as well as the registration for the motorcycle. He was issued an Aug. 30 date in Fourth Division District Court for the license violation. He was also cited for the registration, and the license plate was removed from the motorcycle as a result.

Jamestown Woman Cited for Expired License

Jane W. Conlon, 55, of 45 Howland Ave., Jamestown, was cited at about 5:55 p.m. on Aug. 15 on a charge of driving with an expired license.

According to police, an officer patrolling Boston Neck Road saw a silver SUV driving at about 44 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made near Sprague Bridge.

Police said that the driver, Conlon, told them that she didn’t realize she was speeding. A background check revealed that her license had expired on June 11.

Colon was issued a citation at the scene. Conlon’s son arrived at the scene, and drove her and the car home. Police told her that if her license was reinstated before her court date on Aug. 30, the charges would be dropped.
