Narragansett Police Log: August 26, 27 and 28, 2011

Sienna Van Stolen from 87-Year-Old

At about 10:50 a.m. on Aug. 26, police received a report of a stolen car on Wanda Street.

According to an 87-year-old woman, her silver 2006 Toyota Sienna had been stolen from her front driveway overnight. She told police that the vehicle was unlocked, and the keys had been loosely hidden in the vehicle.

Police issued a bulletin for the minivan, and the incident remains under investigation. Police listed the license plate as CT-919, Rhode Island registration.

According to police logs, police responded to 131 requests for building checks, responding to calls and assisting other agencies during Hurricane Irene on Sunday, Aug. 28. No arrests were made, but several citations were issued for parking violations.
