Massachusetts Man Banned from Town Beach for Hidden Camera Pictures
Joseph C. Harary, 51, of 69 Anne Marie Drive, Holliston, MA, was issued a no-trespass order for Narragansett Town Beach at about 4:13 p.m. on Aug. 5 after a request by the beach manager.
According to police, they received multiple complaints of Harary taking photos of women with a camera that he had hidden under a towel. Police said they looked at the photos on Harary’s camera, which featured women between the ages of 15 and 30 in bikinis on the beach.

Police said that Harary did not have any of the beachgoers’ permission to take the photos. However, none of the photos were lewd or profane, so he was not arrested. He told police that he had not been to Narragansett Town Beach before, and drove 90 minutes there by himself, leaving his wife and two children at home.
A background check revealed that beachgoers had also called to complain of secretive picture taking two weeks ago, and the man in that complaint matched Harary’s description. When confronted with this information, Harary admitted that he had been at the beach before.

When police informed the beach manager of Harary’s activity, he told police that he would like a no-trespass order issued. Police issued this to Harary, and escorted him to his car.
According to police, the only other contact between Harary and Rhode Island police departments was in 2006, when Middletown police received a similar complaint about his behavior.
Narragansett police informed Holliston, MA police of the incident, who also did not have any arrest information on Harary. They told Narragansett police that the report would be forwarded to their detective division for follow-up.
Narragansett Man Arrested for Suspended License
Scott W. Babcock, 27, of 31A Middle Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 5 on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

Police said that Babock also had an expired insurance card, which he was cited for, along with the seatbelt violation. The site of the traffic stop was Babcock’s home on Middle Road, so his truck was not towed from the scene.
