Providence Man Arrested for Driving Without License

William Hesses Hernandez-Munoz, 22, of 151 Region St., Providence, was arrested at about 12:43 a.m. on Aug. 9 on a charge of driving without a license.

According to police, an officer patrolling Kingstown Road saw a purple Toyota Scion, driven by Hernandez-Munoz, with a headlight out. Police said Hernandez-Munoz did not have a license, and identified himself via his Guatemalan passport.

A passenger in the car, a 30-year-old Providence man, also did not have a license, so the car was towed from the scene. Hernandez-Munoz was transported to police headquarters for processing and released at 1:20 a.m.

Hope Valley Man Arrested at Beach on Warrant

Hicham El Majni, 36, of 976 Main St., Hope Valley, was arrested at about 6:47 p.m. on Aug. 9 for a Fourth Division District Court warrant.

According to police, they received an aid request from rangers at Scarborough State Beach because of an intoxicated man arguing with them.

Police said a background check of the man, El Majni, revealed the warrant. He was arrested without incident and transported from Narragansett police headquarters to the ACI at 7 p.m.
