Narragansett Police Log: January 13, 2012

Two men are transported to the hospital after a night of drinking, and a Narragansett woman is arrested on domestic disorderly, vandalism and assault charges.

Narragansett Woman Arrested for Domestic Charges

Caitlin Dugan, 23, of 26 Courtland Drive, Narragansett, was arrested at about 10:45 p.m. on Jan. 13 and charged with domestic disorderly conduct, domestic simple assault and domestic vandalism.

According to police, a 27-year-old man called them to report an assault with his girlfriend, Dugan.

Police said that the victim and Dugan told them a similar story – an argument between the two escalated, and as a result, Dugan scratched the victim on the neck and threw a glass picture frame across the room.

Based on the witness reports and the evidence at the scene, it was determined that Dugan was the primary aggressor. She was arrested and charged with domestic simple assault, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic vandalism. She was released at 12:45 a.m. on Jan. 14 and issued a Jan. 24 date for Fourth Division District Court.

51-Year-Old Narragansett Woman Arrested for Possession of Marijuana

Shelly A. Printer, 51, of 1111 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 11:49 a.m. on Jan. 13 and charged with possession of marijuana and driving while in possession of a controlled substance.

According to police, an officer patrolling traffic clocked a gold Saturn driven by Printer at 53 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone on Point Judith Road by Terra Drive. Police said a traffic stop was made in Printer’s driveway.

Police said that while advising Printer of the speeding violation, they could smell marijuana coming from inside the car. When asked about the smell and whether she had any of the drug, Printer told police she had some in her purse, and gave a small baggie to police.

Printer was arrested and transported to police headquarters. She was processed and released at 12:45 p.m., and issued a Fourth Division District Court date of Jan. 24.

Full Night of Drinking Leads to Headbutt, Hospital Rides

According to police, two men were transported to South County Hospital at about 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 13 after a long night of drinking.

Police said that based on interviews with witnesses, a 25-year-old and a 21-year-old living in a Wayne Street apartment began to wrestle with one another after a night of drinking. During the wrestling, the two bumped heads and scratched one another, causing a good amount of bleeding.

According to police, when they arrived, both the men were conscious but incoherent, with the 25-year-old man sitting on the couch crying. Based on interviews, one man went to bed at 4 a.m. and got a bit of sleep, while the other stayed up the entire time.

Because of the condition of the men, both were transported to South County Hospital. Police said there was no evidence of an assault or other crime – no arrests were made.
