Police said an arrest was made at the intersection of Avice and South Pier without incident. A search of Verrecchia’s pockets revealed two Oxycodone, which he told police he did not have a prescription for.
According to police, a search of Verrecchia’s wallet at headquarters revealed three Clonazepam pills. He was transported to Fourth Division District Court for arraignment.
On Jan. 18, Verrecchia pleaded no contest to the charges against him in Washington County Superior Court. He was ordered to serve 18 months probation, and to complete substance abuse counseling and a mental health program. The shoplifting charges are still pending.
Pawtucket Man Arrested for Sixth Division District Court Warrant
Gonsahn Kamara, 25, of 15 Quincy St., Apt. #2, Pawtucket, was arrested at about 8:49 p.m. on Jan. 16. Police said a Sixth Division District Court warrant was out for his arrest for not attending a hearing related to a suspended license charge.
According to police, a caller reported two suspicious men backed up in a parking spot near the Pier Marketplace. Police said a background check of the occupants revealed that Kamara had a warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to headquarters.
Police said Kamara and the driver, a 22-year-old Providence man, were waiting for the driver’s girlfriend, who worked at a local business.
However, the driver did not have a valid license, only a permit. His girlfriend also did not have an active driver’s license. As a result, the car was towed from the scene.
