Narragansett Police Log: January 18 and 19, 2012
A Providence man with multiple warrants out for his arrest is found in Narragansett.

Providence Man With Three Warrants Arrested
Marcus J. Gibbs, 24, of 47 Home Ave., Providence, was arrested at about 7:40 p.m. on Jan. 19. Police said there were three warrants out for his arrest:

- A Sixth Division District Court warrant for failing to appear at a court on Nov. 1 for a Providence police charge of simple assault.
- An arrest warrant from Providence police for violating a no-contact order on Nov. 3.
- An arrest warrant from Pawtucket police for violating a no-contact order on Nov. 10.
According to police, an officer recognized Gibbs from past contact, and noted that he was in the parking lot of a Point Judith Road business. The officer believed that Gibbs had warrants out for his arrest.
A check with dispatch confirmed the warrants, and an arrest was made without incident on Angell Road. Gibbs was a passenger in a beige Oldsmobile Intrigue. The driver and another passenger were allowed to leave after background checks.

Police noted that Gibbs had a relative’s ID. According to police, Gibbs told them that he had the card in case his background was checked. He was transported to Narragansett Police Headquarters.
Following Gibbs’ arrest, Narragansett police notified both Pawtucket and Providence police departments. Pawtucket police picked him up for processing at 9:41 p.m.
Narragansett Man Arrested for Suspended License
John E. Ucci, 37, of 104 Iroquois Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 1:15 a.m. on Jan. 19 and charged with driving with a suspended license.
According to police, an officer patrolling on Boston Neck Road observed a white Plymouth sedan driven by Ucci without a proper rear license plate light. A traffic stop was made.
Police said a background check of Ucci’s license revealed that it was suspended. He was arrested without incident. At his request, several objects of value were placed into the trunk for safekeeping.
The car was towed from the scene. Ucci was processed and released at 2:09 a.m., with a Fourth Division District Court date of Jan. 31.
