Narragansett Police Log: January 25, 2012
A Charlestown man is accused of domestic assault, and two warrant arrests are made.

Charlestown Man Charged With Domestic Assault
Robert Miller, 57, of 481 Carolina Back Road, Charlestown, was arrested at about 3:50 a.m. on Jan. 25 and charged with domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone and domestic assault.

According to police, they received a report of a domestic assault at a home on Continental Street. A dispatcher told officers that a 56-year-old Narragansett woman said her boyfriend – Miller – had assaulted her.
Police said when they arrived on scene and interviewed Miller, he smelled strongly of alcohol. He denied hitting the woman, and said she was yelling at him while he was sleeping in her bed.

However, according to the woman, the two had gotten into a verbal argument that escalated, with her telling him repeatedly to leave the apartment.
The woman told police that when she made an attempt to call them from her cell phone, Miller slapped her across the face. Police noted that the woman had a mark on her face consistent with being struck.
Based on the physical evidence and witness statements, Miller was determined to be the primary aggressor. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters. After processing, Miller was held for arraignment at Fourth Division District Court the morning of Jan. 25.
South Kingstown Man Arrested for Outstanding Warrant
Shane D. Ford, 24, of 1183 Kingston Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 12:32 p.m. on Jan. 25. Police said Ford had a Fourth Division District Court warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear at a child support court hearing.
According to police, an officer familiar with Ford from past arrests saw him walking on Point Judith Road. A check with dispatch confirmed the warrant, and he was arrested without incident.
Police transported Ford to Fourth Division District Court for a hearing at 1 p.m.
Cranston Woman Arrested for Outstanding Warrant
Rhonda Lyn Fry, 50, of 431 Auburn Ave., Cranston, was arrested at about 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 25. Police said Fry had a warrant out for her arrest for failing to appear at a court hearing related to a Cranston police arrest for shoplifting.
According to police, an officer familiar with Fry from past arrests saw her waiting at a bus stop on Boston Neck Road. A check with a dispatcher confirmed that a warrant was out for her arrest.
Police said she was arrested without incident. She was then transported to Fourth Division District Court for arraignment.
