Narragansett Police arrested a 17-year-old Pawtucket boy at about 2:56 a.m. on July 21 for an outstanding warrant. According to police, a background check revealed an active Florida warrant, which police said the boy said was related to a strong-arm robbery.

Based on the low rate of speed and the exhaust, a traffic stop was made. Police said the driver, an 18-year-old Pawtucket man, said they were lost after hanging out at Scarborough Beach, and trying to drive slowly enough for their GPS to find a new route.
Police ran a background check on the driver and the three passengers, a trio of 17-year-old boys. Police said a Broward County, Florida warrant came up for one of the boys.
When asked about the warrant, the boy said he had been arrested for a strong-arm robbery a year ago, but he had been released and thought everything was taken care of. He told police that he had moved to Pawtucket with his mother a few weeks ago.
Police arrested the boy and transported him to headquarters. He was transported later that day to Providence County Family Court to schedule an extradition hearing.
