Narragansett Police Log: October 1 and 2, 2011
Police break up three different parties, and make several other arrests.

URI Student Arrested for URI Police Warrant, Alcohol Possession
Jorge Cornielle, 19, of 220 Knowlesway, Narragansett, was cited at about 11:57 p.m. on Oct. 1 and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor. He was also placed under arrest because of a University of Rhode Island Police warrant for failing to appear at a court hearing for a disorderly conduct charge.

According to police, an officer patrolling near Jamestown Boulevard saw a man, later identified as Cornielle, carrying a blue bottle of Skyy Vodka in his hand.
Police said as they stopped to do a background check on Cornielle, he threw the bottle into some bushes. A background check revealed the active warrant, and that Cornielle was only 19.

URI Student Cited for Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor
Aaron B. Shatkin, 20, of 51 Maple Ave., Narragansett, was cited at about 2:11 a.m. on Oct. 1 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Shatkin is a University of Rhode Island student.
According to police, an officer patrolling on Ocean Road near Scarborough Beach clocked a white Escalade driven by Shatkin at 56 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made near Captain Freebody Road.
Police said that during the stop, a 12-pack of Corona Extra was behind the passenger seat. Police noted that there were also several empty beer cans, and an empty bottle of vodka.
The Coronas were confiscated and disposed of.
Loud Party Broken Up on Caswell Street…
At about 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 1, police received a report of a loud party at 5 Caswell St.
According to police, about 25 to 30 people were in the backyard when they arrived. Police said the tenants were extremely helpful and apologetic, and helped to break up the gathering.
The tenants were identified as 21-year-old Samuel B. Finn, and 20-year-old Brian J. Kennedy. Both are University of Rhode Island students. The property manager was identified as Lila Delman Realty.
… And Sakonnet Boulevard…
At about 12:54 a.m. on Oct. 1, police received a report of a loud party at 120 Sakonnet Boulevard.
According to police, about 15 to 20 people were gathered at the house. They left without incident.
The tenants were identified as 20-year-olds and University of Rhode Island students Kirstie Dumont, Doriana M. Ciresi, Amanda M. Shaffer and Kaitlin Pierce. The home is owned by Frank and Elisabeth Hoisl.
… And Summit Road
At about 12:03 a.m. on Oct. 1, police received a report of a loud party at 2 Summit Road.
According to police, about 30 people were in the home, with a moderate amount of noise coming from it. The party was quickly ended with the help of the tenants, police said.
The tenants were identified as 21-year-old Brad F. Hushion, 20-year-old Samuel J. Ledversis, and 19-year-old Daniel Formisano. All three are University of Rhode Island students. The property is managed by Anne O’Brien Realty.
