Narragansett Man Wanders Into House, Passes Out on Couch

Police received a call at about 7 p.m. on Oct. 22 reporting a possible breaking and entering on Fifth Avenue. Officers said that when they arrived, a door was ajar and the lights in the home were out. They called out, announcing their presence. A tenant from the upstairs announced she was the initial caller.

When the officers turned on the lights in the living room, they found a 21-year-old Narragansett man passed out on the couch, they report. Police said the tenant was startled, and clearly did not know the man.

The man was awakened, and he insisted that he was in his girlfriend’s house. Police brought him out of the house, and noted that his description matched that of a man missing from a disturbance on Ashley Court.

The residents at the Ashley Court home said that they would take care of him, and that the person he had fought with earlier was no longer at the house. No charges were filed.
