Narragansett Police Log: October 6, 2011
At a loud party, police cite 10 for drinking offenses, as part of a very busy Thursday night.

Ten Cited for Underage Drinking at Loud Party
According to Narragansett police, 10 people were cited for underage drinking after they broke up a party on Point Judith Road at about 11:33 p.m. on Oct. 6.

Police said they received a complaint of a loud party at the intersection of Point Judith Road and Carver Lane. Once they were on scene, a party could be observed at 793 Point Judith Road.
According to police, about 80 to 100 people were gathered. Police said a woman was urinating on the back deck, but she ran inside when she was approached and police couldn’t identify her.

Police said that it took a long time to disperse the party, and beer cans and bottles littered the yard and the surrounding yard. As a result, the tenants were cited for violating the town’s social host ordinance.
According to police, the following people were cited or arrested:
- Jake T. Kane, 19, a tenant at 793 Point Judith Road and a University of Rhode Island student, was cited for violating the town’s social host ordinance.
- Jonathan F. Yunger, 19, a tenant at 793 Point Judith Road and a University of Rhode Island student, was cited for violating the town’s social host ordinance.
- Devin SS Weintraub, 19, a tenant at 793 Point Judith Road and a University of Rhode Island student, was cited for violating the town’s social host ordinance.
- Cameron P. Giles, 19, a tenant at 793 Point Judith Road and a University of Rhode Island student, was cited for violating the town’s social host ordinance.
- Andrew E. Zeyer, 19, a tenant at 793 Point Judith Road and a University of Rhode Island student, was cited for violating the town’s social host ordinance.
- Kevin J. Hickey, 19, a tenant at 793 Point Judith Road and a University of Rhode Island student, was cited for violating the town’s social host ordinance.
- Matthew S. Woodford, 19, of Coddington Hall at the University of Rhode Island, was cited for underage possession of alcohol. According to police, Woodford was cited for holding a 12-ounce can of Keystone Light. Police noted that he told them, “Most people here are under 21, I’m not the only one.”
- Joseph S. Vasta, 19, of 30 White Swan Drive, Narragansett, was cited for underage possession of alcohol. According to police, Vasta is a University of Rhode Island student. Police said he was carrying several cans of Keystone Light.
- Two people under the age of 18 were also cited by police for possession of alcohol.
URI Student Arrested for Possession of Marijuana
Austin S. Bresky, 18, of 78 Chestnut St., Glen Cove, NY, was arrested at about 1:27 a.m. and charged with possession of marijuana. Police said he is a University of Rhode Island student.
According to police, an officer clocked a white 2003 Ford Taurus at 60 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone on Point Judith Road. A traffic stop was made at the intersection of Point Judith Road and Terra Drive.
Police said a smell of marijuana could be smelled emanating from the car. When the officer asked the occupants if anyone had marijuana, Bresky, the front passenger, said that he had some. According to police, he opened the glove box and produced a napkin with a small amount of marijuana on it.
As a result, Bresky was arrested for possession of marijuana. The rest of the car was searched, but was negative for marijuana.
North Kingstown Man Arrested for Suspended License, Pair of Warrants
Gordon W. Crossman, 63, of 888 Ten Rod Road, North Kingstown, was arrested at about 12:34 a.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with driving with a suspended license. Police noted that he also had two warrants out for his arrest.
According to police, an officer traveling on Beach Street saw a Mazda driven by Crossman without a passenger’s side headlight out. A traffic stop was made near Sprague Park.
Police said a background check revealed that Crossman’s license was suspended, and he had two warrants out for his arrest – one from North Kingstown police for a shoplifting offense, and one from state police for a suspended license charge.
He was arrested and transported to police headquarters without incident.
Narragansett Man Cited for Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor
Justin J. King, 19, of 63 Sand Hill Cove Road, Narragansett, was cited at about 9:05 p.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor.
According to police, an officer traveling on Boston Neck Road saw a car with a brake light out. As a result, a traffic stop was made in the parking lot of the Bonnet Shores Plaza.
Police said that during the stop, a six-pack of Narragansett Beer and a 40-ounce of Bud Light could be seen on the backseat of the car. A background check revealed that the driver, King, was not 21, and the alcohol was confiscated.
