Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

New York Man Charged With Vandalism, Also Arrested for Warrant

Matthew Baldyga, 21, of 1708 Webster Ave., Merrick, NY, was arrested at about 2:53 a.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with vandalism. Police said a Narragansett Municipal Court warrant was also out for his arrest.

According to police, multiple witnesses told them that Baldyga punched out a window at a home on Greene Lane, after getting into a verbal argument with a renter. Police said he was arrested without incident when he returned to the home, while they were interviewing witnesses.

Police said Baldyga paid his outstanding municipal court fines – about $200 – and then processed for the vandalism charge. He was released at about 9:50 a.m.

North Kingstown Man Arrested for Warrant

Nicholas R. Schwab, 23, of 693 Dry Bridge Road, North Kingstown, was arrested at about 1:37 a.m. on Oct. 6. Police said a warrant was issued on Sept. 8 after Schwab didn’t appear at a court hearing on July 23 for a Rhode Island State Police charge.

According to police, an officer monitoring the nightly close of Charlie O’s noted Schwab leaving the restaurant, and knew there was a warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested without incident, processed and then released at about 3:45 a.m.

Students Cited for Transportation of Alcohol by a Minor

- Erik Kacsor, 20, of 50 Lower College Road, South Kingstown, was cited at about 12:34 a.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Kacsor is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, an officer driving behind a black Range Rover on Ocean Road noted it swerving slightly. A traffic stop was made near Rodman Street.

Police said that when the driver – Kascor – and a passenger were asked if they had any alcohol in the vehicle, the passenger told them there was a six-pack of Rolling Rock beer. The beer was confiscated, and Kacsor was cited.

- James J. Fede, 20, of 164 Camden Road, Narragansett, was cited at about 8:57 p.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Fede is a student at the Community College of Rhode Island.

According to police, an officer driving on Bonnet Point Road clocked a silver car driven by Fede at about 35 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made near Allagash Trail.

Police said that while speaking with Fede, a 12-pack of Bud Light beer could be seen on the rear passenger’s floor board. The beer was confiscated, and Fede was cited. He was also issued a warning for speeding.

- Mitchell S. Kalble, 20, of 141 Bliss Road, Newport, was cited at about 9:57 p.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor.

According to police, an officer traveling behind a four-door silver Volvo on Burnside Avenue near Charlestown Boulevard noted that it had a defective rear plate light. A traffic stop was made at the intersection of Charlestown Boulevard and Bristol Road.

Police said that while speaking with Kalble, a brown paper bag with a bottle of Barefoot wine in it could be seen between the legs of a passenger. The wine was confiscated, and Kalble was cited.

- Johanna L. Geik, 20, of 75 Sand Hill Cove Road, Narragansett, was cited at about 10 p.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with transportation of alcohol by a minor. Police said Geik is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, an officer saw a gray Nissan make a left-hand turn from Burnside Avenue on to Middle Road without using a turn signal. A traffic stop was made on Middle Road.

Police said that when Geik was asked if there was any alcohol in the car, a passenger gave two bottles of Barefoot pinot grigio to police. Geik was cited, and the alcohol was confiscated and destroyed.

URI Student Cited for Urinating in Street

Daniel J. Murray, 19, of 16 Elm Court, Rumford, was cited at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 6 and charged with public urination. Police said Murray is a student at the University of Rhode Island.

According to police, an officer traveling on Summit Road noted a man – Murray – with his pants open while he urinated on the street. Police noted that there were people and cars in the area while he was urinating.

Police said when asked about the peeing, Murray had a hard time explaining himself, and he refused to sign a court summons. He and a friend left the area shortly after.

Party Cleared on Lambert Street

At about 12:16 a.m. on Oct. 6, police said they received several calls about a loud party at 65 Lambert Street.

According to police, about 50 to 60 people left as they cleared the party, with about six cars illegally parked. Police noted beer cans and red Solo cups littering the nearby lawns.

The tenants were identified as 21-year-olds Trevor J. Dimicco and Nicholas Ferrieri.
