URI Student Issued Summons for Underage Possession of Light Beer Sampler Backpack

Chad M. Conner, 20, of 30 Lincoln Way, Narragansett, was cited at about 10 p.m. on Sept. 8 and charged with underage possession of alcohol. Conner is a University of Rhode Island student, according to online records.

According to police, an officer patrolling on Jamestown Boulevard saw a man, later identified as Conner, wearing a black backpack and carrying a can of Miller Light in his hand. Police said as they approached Conner, he threw the can on the ground.

Police said they asked Conner why he threw the beer, and he told them that he panicked because he was not 21. According to police, a search of his backpack revealed six Keystone Light cans, five Bud Light cans, five Busch Light cans and five Miller Light cans.

According to police, Conner was issued a summons and allowed to leave. The beer was confiscated and disposed of.

Narragansett Man Cited for Public Urination

Nicholas S. Bassett, 22, of 62 Rodman St., Apt. #2, Narragansett, was cited at about 12:46 a.m. on Sept. 9 and charged with publication urination.

According to police, they were assisting with the night closing of Charlie O’s when they saw a man facing the southern exit door with his hands on his side. A closer examination revealed that he was urinating.

The man, identified as Bassett, was issued a citation. He left the area without incident.

Loud Party Report on Joy Lane

According to police, at about 1:31 a.m. on Sept. 10 they received a report of a loud party at 35 Joy Lane in Bonnet Shores.

Police said that when they arrived, they spotted multiple cars illegally parked in the roadway, and issued seven citations. According to police, loud music and voices were coming from the home, but there was no answer when they knocked.

Police said they spotted a man walking from the back yard to the front, and when questioned, he said he was one of the tenants. Police were then able to clear the party in about 10 minutes, noting that about 30 to 50 people were there.

According to police, the tenants – Jared A. Brynes and Dereck Realejo, 20, and Brad R. Marceau, 19 – were cooperative. According to Narragansett property records, the home is owned by Charles and Linda DeAngelis of Cranston. All three tenants are University of Rhode Island students.
