Powerpuff Football Sunday Starts Homecoming Week
The annual game is this Sunday, at 6 p.m., behind the elementary school.
The annual powerpuff football game, a contest of will, guts, determination, guts, grit, will and guts, will take place 6 p.m. Sunday underneath the lights at Narragansett Elementary School. It will be just like Friday Night Lights, but better.
Watch as fierce warriors and hardy gladiators from the school's female population square off against one another in football. Members of several boys' sports squads will work the game as cheerleaders.
Two sessions are scheduled – the freshmen girls vs. the juniors, and the sophomores vs. the seniors. Both games are flag football. The winners will face off on Field Day the Friday following the game.

Admission to the game is free. The event is the kick-off to the school's spirit week.
At Wednesday night’s school committee meeting, Narragansett High School principal Dan Warner laid out the Spirit Week schedule.

Monday will feature Crazy Hair Day, which is exactly what it sounds like. Tuesday through Friday, each class will have a different display in the foyer.
The biggest change comes on Homecoming itself, Saturday morning. Unlike previous years, all four class skits will be shown at 11 a.m., an hour before the football game at noon.
“I’m looking forward to a great week at the high school,” Warner said, who extended an invitation to Town Councilor David Crook, who was attending the first half of the school committee meeting.
Thanks to NHS freshman Erika Chapasko for the heads-up on Twitter about the event.
