COVENTRY, RI — Snow is expected for part of Rhode Island on Friday. The National Weather Service is calling for two inches of snow around Burrillville and the northwest corner of the state. But Providence and Charlestown will likely pick up less than an inch. Newport and Block Island might escape with no snow at all.

But the coast could see some snow on Saturday. A hazardous weather outlook was issued for the entire state at 4:21 Thursday morning. Here are the details.

There is a low risk for several inches of snowfall Friday morning, especially in northern and western Massachusetts and the higher terrain of southern New England.

Another low risk for accumulating snow occurs Saturday along the south coast of MA and RI with diminishing probabilities northward.
