NARRAGANSETT, RI—William H. Dority, 56, of South Kingstown, has pleaded guilty to robbing a Narragansett bank in November, the U.S. Attorney's office said Monday. Dority has been held since Nov. 28 when a police dog named "Bear" tracked him to a shed where he was hiding. He was charged with one count of bank robbery in Providence federal court Monday.
Police said Dority went into the Centerville Bank on Boston Neck Road and gave the teller a note. Narragansett police responded when the panic alarm sounded, and an employee called 911. Officers found Dority 30 minutes later and also found $4,615 in the shed. He is due in court for sentencing on June 19.
