SK Power Outage Left Some Customers In The Cold Wednesday

All the power has been restored, but as many as 2,600 in South Kingstown lost electricity for much of the day.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A power line went down and caught fire this morning on South Road near Curtis Corner. At one point more than 2,600 customers had lost electricity. The situation was not a surprise. Wind gusts had been predicted, and the forecast called for winds powerful enough to down trees and limbs and cause outages across the area. Approximately 170 other households in Narragansett also were off the grid.

Currently, all the service has been restored.
