Southern RI Chamber Hosts A&B Family Appliances Grand Opening
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, June 18, the Southern RI Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to welcome A&B Family Appliances, located at 446A, Main Street in Wakefield.
Owner Jim Buchanan opened what he calls his “mom and pop” store with his wife, Anne, to provide the community with a more personalized way to shop for high quality appliances. His focus is on exceptional service, from sale to delivery, of new and used, large and small appliances, generators, grills, patio furniture, and seasonal items, as well as repairs.

"Our motto is ‘Not the biggest, just the best!’”, he said.
As an independent appliance store owner, Buchanan promises to offer greater variety and more personalized service ─ customers can expect “white-glove” delivery, with strict attention to detail, and removal of old appliances.

Buchanan grew up in Narragansett, left to join the military, and returned almost 20 years later with his wife and four young children. After working as an engineer for more than 20 years ─ eight at Raytheon, Buchanan purchased a local Sears franchise. Now he relishes the opportunity to serve the community at his new store, with his wife and son.
The renovated storefront is already attracting attention from Buchanan’s friends, neighbors, and customers.
