Sports Roundup: Volleyball Today, Tennis Postponed; Schedules Out!
Because of rain, Tuesday's tennis match was postponed, and volleyball kicks off its league schedule today.

The Narragansett High School girls’ volleyball team will start its season today, as they host the Mt. Hope Huskies at 6 p.m. today.
The Mariners finished last year at 9-6 overall and in Division II-South play, losing in five sets in the opening round of the playoffs to Tolman [video]. The Mariners lost senior Deanna Casey, a second team All-Division selection, to graduation.
However, Narragansett is returning a young, improving frontline. As a sophomore, current junior Hannah Maymon made first team All-Division. Maymon was also on a winning volleyball club during the summer.

She is joined up front by sophomore Gabrielle Leclerc, a third team All-Division selection. After beginning last year as a reserve, the tall freshman forced herself into the starting lineup, forming a formidable one-two punch with Maymon.
According to a roster available on the RIIL website, the following players join Maymon and Leclerc on varsity:

Last year, Mt. Hope finished 12-2 in Division II-South play, before losing to Burrillville in the playoff quarterfinals. According to the Huskies’ RIIL roster, they return senior and third team All-Division selection Nicole Delekta, but they lost three other selections to graduation.
A junior varsity game is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. The current junior varsity roster, courtesy of the RIIL, is:
