We are currently updating our “Strategy for Reducing Risks From Natural Hazards in Narragansett, Rhode Island” (Hazard Mitigation Plan) and would like your feedback on Natural Hazards that effect Narragansett. This information will be used to help update the Plan for 2024 and set Action Items for the Town to pursue over the next five years. Please take a moment to complete the following survey.

Public Meeting: December 20, 2023 5pm at the Narragansett Town Hall
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Narragansett is seeking comment on the update of the multihazard mitigation plan entitled “Strategy for Reducing Risks From Natural Hazards in Narragansett, RI”, prior to consideration for approval by the Town Council. The plan is being prepared pursuant to the requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, and to achieve eligibility for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) hazard mitigation grant programs. Members of the Public are invited to provide comments about the plan update which addresses how the Town plans for correcting or avoiding the impacts of natural hazards such as hurricanes, flooding and severe winter weather.
A Public meeting will be held on December 20, 2023 at 5PM at Town Hall, 25 Fifth Avenue to review a progress draft of the Plan and seek input from the public. After this meeting, a draft plan will be accessible on the town website (www.narragansettri.gov) or in the office of the Town Clerk on or about January 19, 2024. Written comments may be directed to the Local Hazard Mitigation Committee in care of:

Deadline for comments is January 5, 2024 at noon.
The Committee will review all comments and a final draft of the plan will be submitted to the NarragansettTown Council for receipt, acceptance and placement in late winter, 2024.
