[VIDEO] Homecoming: The Sights! The Sounds! The Rain!

Photos and video from Saturday afternoon's soggy Homecoming festivities.

Despite weather that refused to cooperate, several hundred people turned out for this year’s Homecoming floats and senior ceremonies at the high school on Saturday afternoon.

The floats were moved to 11 a.m., as opposed to previous years, when half ran before the game and half ran at halftime. Each class had a theme based on television networks:

  • Freshmen – The Learning Channel
  • Sophomores – The History Channel
  • Juniors – FOX / American Idol and other singing shows
  • Seniors – The Discovery Channel

Following the floats, senior members of the band, Color Guard, the cheerleading squad and the football team were honored at a ceremony on the football field.

A steady, soaking rain fell from the start of the junior float to the end of the game, making for sloppy field conditions and eventually thinning out the crowd.
