Water Main Break In Narragansett Discolors Residents' Water

Narragansett Point Judith Water System customers may experience discolored water and lower than normal water pressure.

NARRAGANSETT, RI — A water main break at Roger Wheeler State Beach caused water in the Narragansett Point Judith Water System to be discolored on Thursday morning.

Town officials said the water main break was caused by a contractor with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental management at the beach, distributing sediment and causing the discolored water.

"The Town Water Division has completed flushing hydrants to withdraw dirty water," a town spokesperson said. "Customers may experience discolored water and lower than normal water pressure."
