Youth Track, Ironman Results

Summing up some of the recent running results by Narragansett residents.

It was a busy week for runners young, old and in-between the past week, as the Narragansett Youth Track Series started up Monday, and a resident also competed in the ironman competition this past weekend.

According to Michele McNeiece and several others writing into Narragansett Patch, the first meet of the Narragansett Youth Track Series had more than 600 kids participating.

It is the program has run. It is completely free for participants, thanks to the sponsorship of more than 30 businesses. Registration is at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, with races starting at 6 p.m.

Enos Finishes Ironman Challenge

Narragansett resident Kenneth Enos finished the 2011 Amica Ironman Challenge in 7:27:25, good for 108th place in his age grouping.

Enos, 48, started the day with a 1.2-mile swim in 53:14. He finished the 56-mile bicycle portion in 3:41:23, and ended the day with a 13.1-mile run in 2:39.39.
