NEWPORT, RI — Bowen's Wharf will host its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony Dec. 4. This year will mark the 51st anniversary of the annual holiday celebration.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. with a carol singalong, featuring Frosty the Snowman and local musicians. At 6 p.m., the massive Christmas tree will be lit, officially kicking off the holiday season in the City by the Sea.

Weather permitting, Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive at the basin by boat, to hear Christmas wishes from children.
