3rd And 4th Teens Charged With Assault On Special Needs Rogers High Student
The first teen was arrested Friday, the second Saturday, and the third and fourth Monday.
NEWPORT, RI — Two more teens have been charged with assaulting a special needs Rogers High School student, bringing the total arrested to four.

The third and fourth teens — ages 17 and 14 — were arrested Monday, the Newport Police Department said in a media release. The first Rogers High School student charged, a 16-year-old, was arrested Friday and the second, also 16, was arrested Saturday, according to the release.

The 16-year-old arrested Friday assaulted the special needs student on two occasions, the release said.

The law learned of the first 16-year-old's assault after officers were "made aware of several cell phone recordings," police said.

"This investigation remains active and ongoing," the release said. "The Newport Police Department extends its sincere gratitude to the members of the public who have already provided crucial information regarding this incident.
