Dual Dueling Siblings Arrests

The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Newport police made two separate arrests within two days after family discussions ended with punches thrown.

A brother and sister were arrested Thursday after they allegedly began fighting during a conversation their mother had about “everyone behaving” while on their trip in Newport. Police charged Victor Filsaime, of 1216 Paul St., Orlando, FL, 26, with two counts of domestic simple assault and domestic vandalism.  His 20-year-old sister, Maryline Raymond, of the same address, was charged with domestic assault.

Filsaime told police his sisters were disrespectful to their mother so he slapped one sister and grabbed Raymond by her left arm.  Raymond allegedly responded by punching her brother in his face.  Filsaime also smashed his sister's phone, said police.

In a separate incident, Jezzica Smith, 25, of 142 Van Zandt Avenue, Apt #201, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday after she allegedly punched her sister.  Police said the two sisters and been brought to their mothers house so they could talk about an on-going issue. Smith was charged with domestic simple assault.
