Felony Drug Possession, Urinating in Pubic
The following incidents were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
- Samantha Carfora, 19, 25 Buck Road, Middletown was arrested Wednesday around 10:56 p.m. on felony drug possession charge. She was also cited with possession of marijuana. Emergency crews were reportedly called to Tilden Avenue for a woman who overdosed and crews found Carfora with a syringe in her arm. Police said they found cocaine and marijuana.
- Matthew Newton, 32, 85 Second Street Apt #1, Newport was issued a summons Wednesday around 1:12 a.m. for urinating in public.
- Gerorge Collazo, 35, of 90 Girard Ave. Apt #48, was arrested Wednesday around 2:09 a.m. on two bench warrant charges. Police responded to Festival Field Apartments for a report that people were smoking marijuana. Police did not find narcotics but a search of Collazo turned up the bench warrants, said police.
