NEWPORT, RI—Seven houses sold in Newport last week, according to data from the statewide Multiple Listing Service.
Among the sales was 41 Elm St., otherwise known as the John Simpson House, which was built in 1759 and flipped for $930,000—$20,000 shy of the $950,000 original asking price.
The historic home is quintessential Colonial Newport on the outside and modern sophistication inside, with a big and open modern kitchen with a pro-grade Wolf stove.

The seller, Craig Wilson of West Palm Beach FL, paid $800,000 for the house in 2009.

Also sold last week was the David Howland Braman House, a 1780-colonial at 26 Thames St. with breathtaking wide-plank wood floors. It sold for $729,000.
