The Newport Police Department reported the following arrest for Wednesday May 15: Robert Jurich, 57, of 76 Broadway Apt. #403, was arrested Wednesday around 10:50 a.m. on simple assault charges.  He allegedly tripped in the hallway of his apartment complex, took off his hat and hit a 64-year-old Newport man with it several times.   Jurich allegedly told police the victim tripped him, so he hit him with his hat.

The following arrest was reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction
