NEWPORT, RI—The house at 15 Third Street in the Point Neighborhood of Newport sold for $605,000, according to data from the statewide Multiple Listing Service.
The house was originally listed at $629,000.
The 1,832-square-foot house was built in 1847 and has been carefully restored and renovated to offer updated kitchens and baths in addition to priceless charm that can come only from living in an historic property.

In this case, Moses Barlow, remembered as a skilled boatbuilder who died in 1912 at the age of 83.
Barlow was one of what once was a large number of boatbuilders who lived in The Point neighborhood in the mid-to late 19th century.
Today, the house is one of many desirable properties in one of the city's most desirable neighborhoods. A check shows the house has been marketed as a summer rental in recent years.
The sale price is more than $50,000 less than the price paid by its previous owner in 2004. David Viveiros of Boston bought it from Douglas M. Spear Jr. for $659,000 according to city property records.
The other sale reported in Newport last week was the 1905 Victorian at 7 Division Street in the Historic Hill area. It sold for $327,000 and was originally listed at $339,000.
The 1,442-square-foot in-town house offers 3 bedrooms, two floors, easy access to city amenities but could use renovations and remodeling.
