NEWPORT, RI — The start of the holiday season may be more than a month away, but the Newport Mansions are already getting ready to put on their holiday finery. Once again, visitors will be able to step back in time to enjoy the magic of the Christmas season during the Gilded Age.

For the second year in a row, the Preservation Society of Newport County will feature Sparkling Lights at The Breakers: An Outdoor Magical Wonderland. The display will light up the outdoor landscape of the stately mansion, with this year's setup expanded to include the southern portion of the property, as well.

Inside the mansions, 28 Christmas trees will decorate The Breakers, Marble House and The Elms, alongside ornate, themed decorations tailored to each room they adorn. As is tradition, the Great Hall of The Breakers will feature a 15-foot tree made of 150 poinsettia plants.
