Newport Woman Arrested At Gunpoint for Alleged Pickle Juice Assault
Police said the woman, 50, threw a bottle of pickle juice at the victim, among other allegations.

NEWPORT, RI—Police charged a city woman with several domestic charges after she allegedly threw a bottle of pickle juice at a man who suffered a head injury as a result.
Colleen Marie Jackson, 50, of 35 Hammond St., was arrested after police responded to a 911 hangup call on Wednesday and found the residence in disarray and the victim covered in pickle seeds.
According to a police report, the victim answered the door smelling like vinegar and with a forehead wound.

As police began to separate Jackson and the victim to investigate the situation, Jackson reportedly grabbed a 12-inch knife from a shelf and started walking slowly toward police.
Police drew their weapons and Jackson reportedly continued to walk in their direction "with short steps" before she threw the knife into the sink. Police then grabbed her and got her into handcuffs without further incident.

Police soon learned that Jackson reportedly had been drinking alcohol and consumed most of the victim's Codeine prescription. The victim said they had been drinking all day and the mix of alcohol and drugs "made her aggressive."
Along with throwing the jar of pickle juice, Jackson allegedly assaulted the man and threw furniture around the residence.
Jackson was held for arraignment in Newport District Court on Thursday on charges of domestic simple assault, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic malicious injury.
