NPD: Man Allegedly Assaults Bouncer, Car Theft
The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
- Alan Beeman, 25, 35 Berkeley Street, Apt #3, Providence, was arrested on Monday around 9:34 p.m. on a warrant charge. Beeman reportedly approached a police officer at the Festival Field apartment complex and asked if there was a warrant out for his arrest.
- Joshua Strother, 19, 195 Admiral Kalbfus Road Apt #18A, Newport was arrested Monday around 11:00 p.m. on charges of driving a car without consent from the owner, which is a felony. He was also cited with driving expired license. He allegedly took a car without permission and crashed into a parked bicycle.
- Wendall Palmer, 34, of 4 Village Lane, Middletown was arrested Tuesday around 1:57 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence. He was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test. He allegedly said he had one drink at his grandmother’s house.
- A 15-year-old Newport girl was arrested on Sunday around 7:50 p.m. on vandalism charges.
- Joshua Brown, 28, of 26 Whiting Street, North Atteborough, MA, was arrested on Sunday around 1:40 a.m. on charges of simple assault. He allegedly assaulted a bouncer at Gas Lamp Grille.
