Daffodillion seeking volunteers to help plant and distribute daffodil bulbs

The Daffodil Project, which has a goal to plant one million daffodils throughout Newport, is seeking volunteers to help package and distribute free daffodil  bulbs at the Easton’s Beach Parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Volunteers are also wanted to help with some of the mass plantings organized by the City of Newport beginning Oct 25th (weather dependent).

To volunteer, go to www.Daffodillion.com and click on Volunteer. The complimentary packets of bulbs have a retail value of over $20.

All that’s required for any Newport resident or business to receive their free bulbs is to bring along the “I commit to plant my free daffodils” pledge that can be downloaded at www.Daffodillion.com.

Supplies will be limited and dependent on the amount of donations and sponsors. Over 10,000 bulbs have been donated to date
