Ex-Worker At Taylor Farms In North Kingstown Makes Bomb Threat: Police

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A Providence man was arrested Tuesday after police said he called in a bomb threat to Taylor Farms in North Kingstown.

Ramon Pica, 42, a former Taylor Farms employee, was charged with making felony bomb threats and similar false reports.

Around 11:37 a.m., police were called to the salad and meal kit company at 320 Commerce Park Road for a reported bomb threat. Officers learned the threat came in by phone. Police said the caller identified himself as a past employee of Taylor Farms and said he was going to place a bomb in a supervisor's car, before hanging up.

North Kingstown police and fire crews secured the scene, while Rhode Island State Police and Narragansett police K-9 units swept the area. The K-9 sweep turned up negative findings for explosives, according to police.

Police said investigators later identified Pica as the caller, and he was arrested without incident.

North Kingstown police said the investigation is ongoing, but there is no threat to the public.
