Have 'the most wonderful time' with the Lafayette Band

Free holiday concert December 6 in Wickford -- live music and a sing-along, too

As part of the annual Wickford Festival of Lights, the Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will perform its Holiday Concert at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, December 6, in the First Baptist Church, 44 Main St., Wickford. Music Director Chuck Johnson will conduct a program of traditional and popular holiday music enjoyed by people of all ages.

The playlist will include classics such as "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and "Sleigh Ride," medleys such as "Santa the Barbarian" and "Christmas from the '50s," and a sing-along of Christmas carols led by vocalist Richard Johnson.

Admission is free. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band's members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
