Lafayette Band Is Back at the Band Shell July 30

The free program will feature patriotic and classical music, show tunes, marches and more, led by Music Director Charles Johnson.

The Lafayette Band summer concert series continues with another free performance on Wednesday, July 30, at 7 p.m. at the Band Shell, North Kingstown Town Beach, off Route 1A, Wickford. The program will feature patriotic and classical music, show tunes, marches and more, led by Music Director Charles Johnson.

Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. In case of rain, the concert will be moved inside the adjacent Community Center, if possible. Updates will be provided on the Lafayette Band website, www.lafayettebandri.org, and Facebook page, www.facebook.com/LafayetteBand.RI.

The band will conclude its summer schedule at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, inside the North Kingstown Free Library, 100 Boone St., Wickford.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
