Lafayette Band on the Band Stand Once More, July 31

The free concert is sponsored by Center for Mediation Rhode Island.

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown is bringing more free live music to town, with a performance on Wednesday, July 31, at 7 p.m. The concert will take place at the Band Shell, North Kingstown Town Beach, off Route 1A, Wickford. Music Director Charles Johnson will lead the band in patriotic and classical music, show tunes, marches and more. The concert is sponsored by Center for Mediation Rhode Island.

Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. In case of rain, the concert will be moved inside the adjacent Community Center, if possible. Updates will be provided on the Lafayette Band website, www.lafayettebandri.org, and Facebook page, www.facebook.com/LafayetteBand.RI.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
