Lafayette Band Festival of Lights Concert Set for December 6

Free performance will feature classic holiday tunes, a "Santa the Barbarian" medley, and a Christmas carol sing-along

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will perform its traditional Holiday Concert at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, December 6, in the First Baptist Church, 44 Main St., Wickford. The concert is a featured event in the annual Wickford Festival of Lights. Music Director Chuck Johnson will conduct a festive program of classic and popular seasonal music enjoyed by people of all ages.

The performance will feature classics such as "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and "Sleigh Ride," medleys such as "Santa the Barbarian" and "Christmas from the '50s," and many more. The band will be joined by vocalist Richard Johnson, who will lead a sing-along of Christmas carols and other tunes.

Admission is free. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band's members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
