Lafayette Band Offers Free Concert with R.I. Wind Ensemble, June 28
Each group will play for approximately 45 minutes at the Band Shell, North Kingstown Town Beach.

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown and the Rhode Island Wind Ensemble (RIWE) are collaborating to present a free concert on Wednesday, June 28, at 7 p.m. at the Band Shell, North Kingstown Town Beach, off Route 1A, Wickford.
Led by Music Director Charles Johnson, the Lafayette Band will perform a selection of patriotic marches, popular favorites, big band and swing music, and tunes from Broadway and Hollywood. The RIWE's repertoire includes light orchestral and operatic pieces; traditional, ethnic, and contemporary band music; and jazz, Broadway musicals, and movie scores. Each group will play for approximately 45 minutes.
Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. In case of rain, updates will be posted on the Lafayette Band website, www.lafayettebandri.org, and Facebook page, www.facebook.com/LafayetteBand.RI.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
The Rhode Island Wind Ensemble, founded in 1969, is a modern wind band of 50 professional and avocational musicians of all ages and from all walks of life, who believe that live music helps build community.
