Lafayette Band welcomes N.K. Community Chorus on July 16

An evening of lively entertainment is expected at the Town Beach bandshell

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown and the North Kingstown Community Chorus will combine their talents to present a free concert on Wed., July 16, at 7 p.m. at the Band Shell, North Kingstown Town Beach, off Route 1A, Wickford. The program will feature patriotic and classical music, show tunes, marches and more. The Lafayette Band is led by Music Director Charles Johnson, while Director Heather Skidds leads the Community Chorus.

Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. In the event of inclement weather, updates may be found on the Lafayette Band website, www.lafayettebandri.org, or Facebook page, www.facebook.com/LafayetteBand.RI.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
