N.K. Celebrates America with Lafayette Band Concert, Fireworks, July 3
The annual free Independence Day concert will begin at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9 p.m., at the North Kingstown Town Beach

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will present its free annual Independence Day concert at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, at the North Kingstown Town Beach, 15 Beach St., Wickford. Music director Charles Johnson will conduct a program of patriotic and popular music. The concert is sponsored by Dave’s Fresh Marketplace
The town's traditional fireworks display will follow, beginning at approximately 9 p.m.
Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. In case of rain, the concert and fireworks would be postponed to Sunday, July 7. Check for updates posted on the Lafayette Band website, www.lafayettebandri.org, and Facebook page, www.facebook.com/LafayetteBand.RI.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 140 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
