North Kingstown Police Don't Shave To Raise $3K For Local Food Pantry

Due to No Shave November's success, acting Police Chief John Urban agreed to a "Double Down December," to raise more money for charity.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — North Kingstown police officers left their razors behind to start out No Shave November and did so for a good cause.

Members of IBPO Local 473, which is the union for North Kingstown officers, donated money not to have to shave in November. In doing so, they raised $3,000 and donated it Wednesday to the North Kingstown Food Pantry to help local families in need for Thanksgiving.

Due to No Shave November's success, acting Police Chief John Urban already agreed to a "Double Down December," where IBPO Local 473 members will donate again to not shave for December. Police said the money raised will be donated to another local North Kingstown charity.
