North Kingstown Police Hosting 'Shop With A Cop' To Help Local Kids
Walmart will allow each child will have the chance to select one toy valued at $25 or less, and the police union is matching this.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — The North Kingstown Police Department will host its "Shop with a Cop" event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 21.
This holiday program, organized in collaboration with Walmart, the North Kingstown School Department’s Office of Family Learning, and IBPO Local 473, aims to bring joy to families in need and strengthen community connections.
The Office of Family Learning selected 30 families, representing 50 children, to participate in the event. Each family will spend 30 minutes shopping with a North Kingstown police officer, creating a unique opportunity for meaningful interaction.

Walmart will allow each child will have the chance to select one toy valued at $25 or less. To make the season even brighter, the North Kingstown Police Union, IBPO Local 473, has pledged to match Walmart’s contribution, doubling the impact to ensure a memorable holiday for these children and their families.
Families will be assigned 30-minute time slots between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., with each family paired with a North Kingstown officer to ensure a personal and enjoyable experience.
