North Kingstown Woman Accused Of Hit-And-Run Crash Into 2 Children

Latoya Rose, 38, struck two juvenile pedestrians with her car on July 16, North Kingstown police say.

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A North Kingstown woman was charged after she struck two children with her car in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month, police said Friday.

Latoya Rose, 38, was charged with two counts of duty to stop in accidents resulting in personal injury.

On July 16, North Kingstown police were called to the area of Devils Foot Road and McConnel Court for a report of a hit-and-run involving pedestrians. Police said two juvenile pedestrians were struck by a car, and the driver, later identified as Rose, drove away.

According to police, both children sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital, but the injuries were not life-threatening.

After an investigation police said they identified the vehicle involved in the crash and Rose as the driver.

Rose is scheduled to be arraigned in Kent County District Court in Warwick on Tuesday.
