Obituary: Joseph R. Pelosi, 83, Gave the Gift of Music to Many

Joseph R. Pelosi, 83, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich.

He was the beloved husband of Angela, his wife of 60 years, and the adored father of Lisa and son-in-law Ed Quinlan. He leaves behind another daughter, Andrea.

He gave the gift of music to so many. For 39 years, he taught music in the North Kingstown school system. He also was the conductor of The Lafayette Band for 50 years. His distinguished career was recognized many times, and he was humbled to have The Joseph R. Pelosi Performance Center at the Wickford Beach named in his honor by the North Kingstown Town Council.

He is deeply loved and is deeply missed. As he always said, we will be together again.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday November 3rd at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., E. Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, E. Greenwich.

Calling hours: Monday November 2nd from 4-7 pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Saint Elizabeth Home, One Saint Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI, 02818, in appreciation for the staff’s compassionate care.
