Sean Cranston Rice, 41, of Saunderstown, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Sean Cranston Rice, 41, of Saunderstown, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Providence a son of Valerie A. (Souza) Rice and the late William C. Rice, he was a direct descendent of John and Samuel Cranston the original Governors of Rhode Island.
A talented and accomplished football player, he began playing in his youth for the North Kingstown Pop Warner league and went on to play for the North Kingstown High School All-State Team and later played for Salve Regina University.

He had worked for the Coast Guard House and Pelly’s Place. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Narragansett Lion’s Club.
Sean was a fantastic, loving father and a great friend.
Besides his mother, Sean leaves the love of his life, Tanya Baldwin and their daughter Gianna Rice; two brothers, Stephen Kalfon and Eren Rice; a sister, Kristen Martone; his uncle Bobby Rice; his aunt, Susan Rice Wenner; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of His Life will be held Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 10am in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Narragansett Lions Club will be appreciated.
